The Sault’s Frank Sarlo exemplifies a professional, scholarly, and volunteer life well-lived. Born and raised in the city’s West End, Frank ably practiced law here for 40 years, widely respected for his legal talent and abundant common sense. After retirement, Frank then earned his PhD from the UK’s prestigious Bristol University (Community Organizations), with his doctoral thesis research based on 31 Sault community groups. And now? Frank has built upon his remarkable practical and academic knowledge base with ‘A Special Place’ – Frank’s wonderfully detailed and thoroughly enjoyable new book that tells the Sault story in a way that few others could ever tell it.
Frank has done something for his community through ‘A Special Place’ that takes his book from words to action. Frank has donated all book proceeds for equal sharing between our local St. Vincent Place and Pauline’s Place charities – and Frank has transferred the entire book rights’ ownership to them. Tagona Press is committed to helping take ‘A Special Place’ to a wider audience. All net sale proceeds will be donated to these excellent charities.
