Oliver Dorian is a young boy who lives by the sea in the small fishing village of Brigus, Newfoundland, Canada. Oliver comes from a long family history of fishermen who depend on the mighty sea for much of their food and livelihood.
Oliver questions the mightiness of the sea after seeing the effects that trash and garbage have on its environment. But, it is a chance encounter with an endangered blue whale called ‘Big Blue’ that makes Oliver realize just how fragile the sea really is.
A contest at school helps Oliver find his voice and with his best friend Bo, he is able to tell others how we can help protect the sea and its creatures. Oliver’s idea is something all of us can do for planet and its waters.
