In the next few weeks, some important Canadian and North American publishing awards will be announced for books that were released in 2022. The Tagona Press works that have been nominated, or otherwise entered into competitions are Durham, Hastings, and Algoma – Solemn Land.
We are proud of these books, and they reinforce how fortunate I am to work with such talented creative people and our supporters located across Ontario. Waiting for the competition results – anticipation, some nerves, self-doubt, hope — emotions that fluctuate day by day. Echoing Michael Jordan (and innumerable others who are driven to succeed in their chosen endeavors), “You will miss 100% of the shots you never take”. Competitive outcomes can be humbling, but they invariably help to improve our craft. I shall keep you posted!
